This is how Tim sculpted the original pattern pieces for the Constellation Class Starship!
|
|
The main hull of the Constellation was constructed of stacked pieces of sheet styrene. The saucer and pylon pieces were from a 1/2500 Ertl Enterprise-A. The raised grid lines on the saucer halves were sanded off and scribed on for better accuracy. The bridge was cut off of a 1/2500 Ertl Classic Enterprise. The windows were later drilled in with a micro-sized drill bit. The raised details on the top and bottom of the hull were made from styrene. |

The pylons were made from sheet styrene with fluted styrene pieces for
the raised details. The small, oddly-shaped pieces on the bottom of
the saucer were hand carved by Tim from styrene. The large pontoons
on the bottom rear of the hull were made the same way. You can see the
lengths he goes to get the right details.
